Terms of Service

Last revised October 25, 2026

Who is agreeing to what?

You, the visitor, and we, whoever operates rumpelstiltskinai.meme (named at the end of this page). The moment you upload, buy credits or start a render, these terms bind both of us, and so do the Privacy, Acceptable Use and Refund policies linked below.

Buying or rendering requires that local law treats you as able to sign a contract.

What do you actually get?

One or two face photos go in. Photo 1 takes the imp’s part: creeping forward, hushing the viewer, then dancing on tiptoe. Photo 2 takes the part of the girl frozen in the straw. Costumes are fixed. Leave a slot empty and our invented character fills it. Out comes one silent landscape clip: fifteen seconds, 16:9, 720p, inside a hay barn with an old-cinema grade.

We built the barn, the characters, every shot and the edit ourselves with generative tools. The viral clip, the 1987 film and the song recording play no part, so the music is yours to add on whichever app you post to.

Models are unpredictable by nature. A face, a strand of hair, a hand or a costume detail may differ from your photo, or from one render to another, and queue times rise and fall with demand. Neither likeness nor speed is promised.

Who owns the photos?

Whatever rights you hold stay yours. We borrow the photos only to store them, run them through our providers and make your clip, then delete them on the schedule in the Privacy Policy.

Ticking the consent box is a statement you make to us: that you may use each image, and that anyone recognisable in it consented to being cast. We take you at your word and do not check.

And the finished clip?

We do not claim it. Post it, keep it or send it to friends, as long as the law, these terms, the people pictured and each platform’s house rules (AI labels included) are respected.

Clips are not public. They open only for the browser session that paid, or for anyone you hand the optional save link to. A week after a clip is ready it is erased for good, so download it first.

How do payment and credits work?

  • $8.99 USD buys 150 credits; one clip consumes 150. No plan, no auto-renewal.
  • Shoppers inside the euro area are charged €8.99 in euros. Other currencies may appear as Stripe’s conversion of the dollar price.
  • Stripe takes the card. We only ever see the outcome, never the full number.
  • Credits cannot be cashed out, resold or gifted.
  • Credits sit in an anonymous cookie that lives 30 days. Clear it, let it lapse or switch device and they are gone, because there is no account to restore them from.
  • If a render breaks or gets blocked after spending credits, your session is topped up once, automatically. A render that is merely slow is still running; paying again would only buy a second clip.
  • Money back is a separate matter, handled under the Refund Policy.

Can we refuse a job?

Yes. Everything you upload falls under the Acceptable Use Policy, and we may turn photos away, stop a render or limit access where we suspect a breach, where someone needs protecting, or where a legal duty applies.

Are you connected to the meme?

No. Rumpelstiltskin AI is an unofficial fan project with no tie, sponsorship or blessing from RiFF RAFF, his record labels, the people who made the original AI clip, the 1987 film’s producers, DreamWorks or any social network. Rights holders with a concern can email the address below and we will respond promptly.

Can any of this change?

Features, providers, prices and the service itself may change or stop without notice. A new price never reaches back to a payment already made. When these terms are revised, the date at the top moves; each render follows whichever version was live when it started.

What is our liability?

You get the service as it stands, with whatever availability it has on the day. Beyond what these terms state, we make no further promises where the law lets us say so, and any claim against us is limited to what you spent here during the 30 days leading up to it. Rights that consumer law makes non-negotiable remain intact.

Which law applies?

The law of the People’s Republic of China, and specifically that of the mainland, excluding Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan. Talk to us before anything else; most problems end with an email. If one does not, a competent court in mainland China settles it.

Protections your home country grants consumers by law still stand.
